Cheers Montreal!

The High Dials want to thank all the fans who came out to catch them live at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal yesterday afternoon.

The band received an enthusiastic hometown welcome and performed a memorable 30-minute set of fan favorites, featuring special guest and frequent studio addition Josh Fuhrman on saxophone in “A River Haunting”, “Uruguay” and “Invisible Choirs”.

After a special acoustic set to help raise money for War Child Canada, the boys capped off their eventful day hanging out with the very cool and generous Mr. Elvis Costello- yeah!

Busking for change at Osheaga

After their 2pm set at the Osheaga Festival on July 30th, the High Dials will be busking for change on the festival grounds in support of the very worthy War Child charity. This is the second time the band has been involved in Busking for Change fundraising drive.

If you won’t be at the Osheaga Festival you can still help the band reach their modest goal by donating ONLINE here. Money collected through online donations and on site will support an award-winning charity that provides humanitarian assistance to over 250,000 children and families affected by war each year. War Child works with children in some of the most devastated regions of the world to reduce poverty, provide education and to defend and fight for their rights.

Live Dates This Summer

With the exception of a brief flurry of shows in March, the High Dials have been on hiatus from playing live while they continue to work on a film soundtrack (more news on that to come soon). Working on instrumental music collaboratively has opened up new doors of creativity in the band, about which all the members are excited. Time will tell how this new approach influences a future album. Singer-songwriter Trevor Anderson also took advantage of the break to return to Colombia, a recent place of inspiration, where he’s been working on new tunes for the group.

The band is about to come out of their creative cocoon for some select dates in July, culminating in a not-to-be-missed appearance at the OSHEAGA FESTIVAL in Montreal July 30. Catch them live on the following dates:

July 10th, 2011 – Sorel-Tracy, QC (Festival de la Gibelotte)

July 16th, 2011 – Toronto, ON (The Silver Dollar)

July 27th, 2011 – Ottawa, ON (Zaphod Beeblebrox w/ guests TBA)

July 30th, 2011 – Montreal, QC OSHEAGA MUSIC FEST (w/ Eminem, Flaming Lips, Elvis Costello and more!)
