New Video Release – “Chinese Boxes”

The High Dials released their first video from “Anthems for Doomed Youth” today.

Directed by Nico Stinghe, the video was shot entirely on Super 8 black and white film on a wintery day at keyboardist Eric Dougherty’s Mile End apartment.

The band wanted a lo-fi and low-key short film in keeping with the sensibility of their latest record, which was self-recorded (some of it on 4-track cassette)! The interior early-morning setting was chosen to capture the claustrophobic, disoriented vibe of the song, with images that sometimes directly echo the lyrics. The shoot was disorienting for other reasons as it quickly disintegrated into a vodka-induced jam session. Check out some of the great pics from the day of filming HERE.

Space Hobo lands in the UK

An unreleased single edit of “Space Hobo”, the closing track from Moon Country, features prominently in a stellar new compilation from UK-based label Northern Star Records. “Psychedelica 4” is a highly-recommended snapshot of the current indie/psych pop scene. Get your copy here.

A cool promo video for the song was filmed while Trevor was traveling in Colombia. Check it out below!
